Our first speaker of 2018 will be Mèlika Carroll, a seasoned professional with expertise across the private and public sectors.

Described as “one of the best in the business” by the CEO and President of the Internet Association, Mèlika is currently Senior Vice President of Global Government Affairs at the Internet Association with a mission is to foster innovation, promote economic growth, and empower people through the free and open internet. Previously, Mèlika served as a Policy Advisor for Senator Schatz, Ranking member of the Senate Commerce Committe’s Subcommitee on Communications, Technology, Innovation and the Internet. Before joining Senator Schatz’s team, Mèlika was a member of and led global government affairs teams for Fortune 500 technology companies, including Intel, Micron, HP, and Salesforce.

Mèlika is also one of us – she is the co-founder and former chairwoman of the Global Women’s Innovation Network, GlobalWIN.org, a bi-partisan organization that provides a dynamic forum for women passionate about innovation.

About Mèlika Carroll
Mèlika Carroll is the Senior Vice President of Global Government Affairs, where she oversees Internet Association’s state and federal affairs teams. The Internet Association is the only trade association that exclusively represents leading global internet companies on matters of public policy with a mission to foster innovation, promote economic growth, and empower people through the free and open internet.

Prior to this position, Mèlika was Policy Advisor to Senator Brian Schatz. As a Policy Advisor for Senator Schatz, Mèlika supported the Senator’s work as Ranking Member of the Senate Commerce Committee’s Subcommittee on Communications, Technology, Innovation and the Internet. Mèlika was previously a member of and led global government affairs teams teams for major tech companies like Hewlett Packard, Intel, and Micron Technologies.

She also teaches a practicum on international business and government relations as an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University and is the co-founder and former chairwoman of the Global Women’s Innovation Network, GlobalWIN.org.

Mèlika holds a Bachelor in Political Science and Public Administration from the University of Ottawa in Canada and a Masters of European Affairs from the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium.
