That’s right — Changemaker Chats is headed to London! And we’re thrilled to host our first chat with Erin McLaughlin, international correspondent at CNN’s London bureau.

Prior to becoming a full time correspondent, Erin worked on many high profile stories as a producer. She was part of the Emmy nominated team for CNN’s coverage of the Detroit attempted terror attack in 2009 and now covers a range of high-profile stories across the UK and Europe. We’ll discuss Erin’s career, as well as some of the challenges facing women in the media and on the broader world stage today.

About Erin McLaughlin
Erin McLaughlin is an international correspondent, based in CNN’s London bureau. She has covered a range of stories in the UK and Europe, including Europe’s diplomatic response to the crisis in Ukraine, the Conclave of Pope Francis, the London Olympics, the trial of Amanda Knox and various terror attacks in London, Paris, Brussels and Berlin. She also reported on the birth of the Royal baby Prince George, the death of former UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, and Britain’s decision to leave the EU.

After graduating in Business Administration with high honours, Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of California Berkeley’s Haas Undergraduate Program, Erin joined CNN as an intern in 2003, based in San Francisco. A move to CNN Atlanta quickly followed in 2004, where she worked as a researcher on the international assignment desk, before her switch to London in 2010.

Prior to becoming a full time correspondent, Erin worked on many high profile stories as a producer. She was part of the Emmy-nominated team for CNN’s coverage of the Detroit attempted terror attack in 2009, and produced coverage of stories as diverse as the Anders Breivik trial in Norway, the European Union’s Greek bailout, the 2011 London Riots, and the trial of Saddam Hussein. She also helped coordinate CNN’s coverage of the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Catherine.
